OH Philip White (Th 82) runs The Legal Director (“TLD”), which provides growing businesses with senior in-house lawyers on a flexible basis.
Fully regulated
The Legal Director is a fully regulated law firm providing growing SME businesses with access on a flexible/fractional basis to very experienced “general counsel” level in-house lawyers.
Services offered
Our Legal Directors work with clients on a retainer basis, typically for between two and six days a month, designed entirely around their needs, which can be reviewed and flexed up or down. These considerably experienced professionals will always give honest, pragmatic advice with a commercial focus, dealing with 99% of a business’s legal work.
Clients
Ideal clients are: • Growing and based in England or Wales • Dealing with a lot of commercial/compliance issues • With turnover of more than £5-10m, but typically not more than £75-90m • Not currently employing or using an in-house lawyer • Often spending more than £50K p.a. on advice from traditional law firms but not getting a great service • Whose busy CFO/CEO is spending too much time dealing with legal matters.
What customers say
“Working with The Legal Director has been phenomenal. They give us agile and efficient access to a wealth of legal expertise, whenever we need it.”
Izzie Rivers
CEO, Realm B2B
“The Legal Director started with us four years ago. I just know I can rely on them to deal with all my UK work – which is hugely important as I am California-based. We first used them because our existing providers were becoming far too expensive. We simply wanted a more cost-effective solution but without compromising the quality. Not only is TLD is less costly, they also provide far more commercial value to me and my team.”
Peter F. Mow
Senior Vice President – Real Estate and Construction, Skechers USA LTD
