The Marathon des Sables, or MdS, is a gruelling seven-day ultramarathon, widely known as the toughest footrace on Earth. Approximately the distance of six regular marathons, Felix embraced this incredible challenge raising money for his chosen charity SANE.
In his own words
‘Since leaving Haileybury, I’ve been working as an accountant in central London. Outside of work, I picked up running and it quickly became a big part of my life. Last year, I decided to push myself and signed up for the Legendary Marathon des Sables to raise money for SANE, a charity dedicated to improving mental health and supporting those affected.’
‘Out of over 900 competitors, I was placed 73rd overall and 11th out of 182 Brits – I was the youngest Brit to take part this year. But more than the numbers, it’s the experience that’ll stick with me; the relentless heat, the torn-up feet, the strangers who became teammates, and the silent, brutal moments where we all had to find something deeper.’
