Sam Billings (BF04) has been making his mark on the other side of the Atlantic, producing a blistering innings for the White Rock Warriors in this year’s Canada Super 60.
Captaining the Warriors in the fast-paced T10 competition at BC Place in Vancouver, Sam produced one of the standout performances of the tournament, smashing 72 runs from just 24 balls against the Montreal Royal Tigers on 3 October.
His explosive innings included eight sixes and four fours, at a strike rate of 300, as the Warriors reached 140/5 from their ten overs. Montreal were restricted to 127/9 in reply, giving White Rock a 13-run victory and earning Sam Player of the Match.
The Canada Super 60 brings together international players for a particularly rapid form of the game, with each side facing just 60 balls. This year’s competition ran from 29 September to 4 October and featured a host of familiar cricketing names alongside Sam.
Although the Warriors’ campaign ended at the league stage, finishing fifth, Sam’s 72 was described by the tournament itself as the day’s most explosive individual innings.
Congratulations to Sam on another fantastic performance on the international cricket stage.
