This Sunday, two young OHs will be lacing up their running shoes for a very special reason, to support someone incredibly close to their hearts.
Bella Fletcher (H 19) and Luke Howard (Th 24) will be running in support of Brain Tumour Research, inspired by Bella’s mum, Frankie, who was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour a couple of years ago.
The diagnosis has brought its challenges, including epilepsy, but Frankie continues to do well and remains in good health, with her strength and positivity providing inspiration to those around her. For Bella and Luke, Sunday’s half marathon is about more than crossing the finish line. It’s an opportunity to show their support for Frankie, raise awareness and help fund vital research that could make a difference to others affected by brain tumours.
Bella explained:
“Brain Tumour Research is a brilliant organisation, helping to fund further research and technology to help other individuals with brain tumours. We are very excited to be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon this Sunday, to help support such a vital cause.”
The Royal Parks Half Marathon takes runners on a 13.1-mile route through some of London’s most iconic green spaces, bringing together thousands of participants raising money for charities and causes that matter to them.
Supporting a Worthwhile Cause
Brain Tumour Research is dedicated to funding research into brain tumours, improving understanding of the disease and working towards better treatments and outcomes for those affected.
Through their fundraising efforts, Bella and Luke hope to contribute to this important work while highlighting the impact a brain tumour diagnosis can have on individuals and their families.
The Haileybury Society is delighted to help share their story and encourages the OH community to get behind Bella, Luke and Frankie as they take on Sunday’s challenge.
