OH Richard Janes (K 89) successfully completed the Barcelona Marathon on Sunday, raising funds for the ‘Still Mark’ campaign in support of fellow OH Mark Bowen (LS & K 89).
Richard took on the 26.2 mile challenge following our earlier article highlighting his plans to run the marathon and raise funds for Mark and his family.
Reflecting on the experience, Richard said:
“I am delighted to have completed the Barcelona Marathon on Sunday, helping to raise money for the Still Mark campaign. Thank you to everyone who supported me. It was a beautiful day (a bit hot!), the event was well run with a great atmosphere, and we had great fun celebrating in the evening.”

The Haileybury community has shown fantastic support for the initiative, and Richard would particularly like to thank the many Old Haileyburians who donated and shared messages of encouragement ahead of the run.
Congratulations to Richard on a superb achievement, and sincere thanks to everyone who has supported the campaign so far.
