We are sorry to share the news of the death of David Lapidus (B 54-58) on 5th July 2025, aged 84.
At Haileybury David was one of the unbeaten 1954 XV England Schoolboys Rugby. From Haileybury he went on to Sandhurst, then served with the Royal Army Service Corps, the Royal Corps of Transport and the 48th Gurkha Brigade. He continued to play competitive rugby, capped by the Army v the Navy at Twickenham, and played for both Hong Kong and Jersey. After the Army followed a successful career in the hotel trade. David was President of Jersey Rugby Club, an Ambassador for Variety Clubs International and long-standing local overseas Secretary of The Haileybury Society.
