The Haileybury Society is saddened to learn of the untimely death of Nicholas Leslie Pratt (C 91) on 8th May 2022, aged 44.

Nicholas’s brother, Simon (B 93), informs us that his death followed a valiant three-year battle with a brain tumour. He is survived by his wife Liliana, and two daughters, Isabella (17) and Jessica (15).

After leaving Haileybury in 1996, Nick trained as a ski instructor in Canada and shortly after met his future wife. They were married at Haileybury in 1999.

Nick chose to pursue a career in finance & accounting, ultimately becoming Finance Director of an Icelandic telecommunications provider. He continued to work as long as he could during his illness, but was forced to take medical retirement towards the end of 2021.

Nick’s passion had always been skiing, and his family were able to fulfil his wish of taking him to Murren, Switzerland in February 2022 one final time. Although with limited mobility, he managed a few gentle runs on the nursery slope.

Nick’s funeral was attended by a number of OHs; Simon himself delivered the eulogy.
