OH Mark Nash (L 91) will take on one of the UK’s most demanding cycling events this spring, as he rides the renowned Fred Whitton Challenge in support of blood cancer research.

On 10 May, Mark will tackle the 112-mile route through the Lake District, a course widely regarded as one of the toughest in the country. Featuring nearly 4,000 metres of climbing, the ride includes some of the most formidable ascents in British cycling, including the legendary Hardknott and Honister passes. As Mark himself puts it, this will be “more of an ordeal than a ride.”

Mark is undertaking this challenge to raise funds for blood cancer research, a cause that is deeply personal to him. His mother was recently diagnosed with blood cancer; thankfully, she is currently doing well and in a positive place. Mark also lost his grandfather to leukaemia, making this effort all the more meaningful.
