We are delighted to share the news that the significant and fascinating work of Professor Rosalind Rickaby FRS in the world of marine biochemistry, has been recognised in the New Year Honours by her receiving an OBE.
Ros is Professor of biogeochemistry at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Oxford[3][1] and a Professorial Fellow at University College, Oxford. She is an Emeritus Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford.
Ros writes: “I am absolutely thrilled, if bamboozled, to have my work on the interactions of life in the ocean with evolving chemistry recognised in this way by His Royal Highness, King Charles. My love of science was born and nurtured at school and I am eternally grateful to all whom have tolerated my endless questions ever since! I have been so incredibly lucky to be able to continue with the rollercoaster ride of discovery about the power of plankton in maintaining a habitable Earth, and hope to continue to demonstrate the importance of the oceans, and all life within, for our future.”
