We are very sad to announce the death of Robert (Bob) Eastwood (Th 57) aged 80. At Haileybury Bob was a prefect and played rugby in the XV in 1960, 1961 & 1962 (Captain); He was also in the Athletics team in 1960 & 1961. He went on to Hertford College, Oxford & gained a BA in History and spent his career in the travel industry.
Bob’s father Eric Douglas Eastwood (Th 28) was also at Haileybury and died in air operations in 1943 shortly before Bob’s birth.
Bob was a regular attendee of our London lunch and a generous donor to the Society, for which we are very grateful. We send our sincere condolences to Bob’s extended family at this sad time.
