The Haileybury Society is saddened to learn of the death of ardent England rugby fan and Edmonstonian Christopher Edward Emms (E 51) who has died aged 83 on 1st May 2020.
At Haileybury, Christopher was a Senior Scholar, representing the School in Athletics (1954-5); Boxing (for which he was Captain) (1955); and Swimming from 1951-4 and then Captain in 1955. He was also active in the CCF (51-55) and the RMFVR (1955).
After Haileybury, Christopher became a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1972 and was a Senior Partner at Emms & Co, Chartered Surveyors. From 1956-60, he also played rugby for Woodford, Essex and Eastern Counties and never lost his love for the game.
The Haileybury Society sends its deepest condolences to Christopher’s partner Yonca, his three daughters, seven grandchildren and the rest of his family and friends at this difficult time.
