National Army Museum, Chelsea – Private Tour of the Indian Army Insignia Collection, Wednesday 16th September 2026
We are delighted to invite Society members, family & guests to a special visit to the National Army Museum, Chelsea, London.
We will meet at 10.30am for a welcome and introductory talk from the Museum, before being taken on a private guided tour to view the extraordinary collection of Indian Army insignia donated by Old Haileyburian Field Marshal Sir John Chapple GCB, CBE, DL (K 45).
This remarkable collection reflects a lifetime of service and dedication, and offers a fascinating insight into the history, structure and heritage of the Indian Army. The tour will provide privileged access to material not normally highlighted in a standard museum visit.
You can read more about Field Marshal Sir John Chapple via the Museum’s website here:

While entry to the National Army Museum is free, this event includes a private tour arranged exclusively for The Haileybury Society to view the Indian Army insignia collection donated by Field Marshal Sir John Chapple (K 45). The ticket price contributes towards the donation requested by the Museum for providing this private tour.
Following the tour, the Museum has kindly allocated our group a designated space in the café. Food and drinks can be purchased directly from the café and are not included in the ticket price. Members will then be free to continue their own viewing of the National Army Museum at their leisure.
