A Man of Letters by David Rimmer (Th 76) DIGITAL COPY
We are delighted to offer the digital edition of A Man of Letters by David Rimmer (Th 76).
Originally published with the support of a small grant from The Haileybury Society, A Man of Letters is a collection of David's wonderfully insightful and often witty correspondence, featuring his published letters to national newspapers including The Times, The Financial Times, The Sunday Times, The i, and The Guardian, as well as contributions to respected publications such as The Spectator, The Oldie, The Cricketer, and Rugby World.
Covering subjects ranging from politics and sport to social issues and local affairs, the book provides a fascinating glimpse into the observations and passions of a lifelong letter writer.
The book includes a preface by Quentin Letts (H 76) and is dedicated to David's mentor, Jack Thomas, former Housemaster of Allenby, Editor of The Haileyburian, and Head of English.
Although the hardback edition is no longer available, David has very generously agreed to make this digital edition available through The Haileybury Society for just £5.
In an equally generous gesture, £3 from every purchase will be donated directly to our Still Mark Campaign in support of Mark Bowen (Ls K 89), helping to continue the remarkable support being shown across the Haileybury community.
Whether you are purchasing the book for the first time, revisiting David's entertaining collection of letters, or simply wishing to support Mark and his family, we are enormously grateful for your support.
