Duxford's site is impressive; during the remainder of the afternoon you can visit many different buildings on site which include:
Second World War - Three historic rooms at IWM Duxford have been transformed to reflect how they would have appeared during the Second World War.
American Aircraft - a spectacular building containing many iconic aircraft including the Liberator, Mustang and even the mach 3 Blackbird of the postwar era.
Hangars - each of these contains aircraft in different stages of restoration as well as being used as maintenance for aircraft which fly from Duxford during shows. Every hangar is packed with aircraft, including: the legendary Spitfire, Me BF109, Bristol Beaufighter; Hawker Nimrod; Gloster Javelin; Bristol Blenheim; Fairey Gannet and many, many more!
As an active airfield, Duxford often plays host to private pilots enjoying their own historic aircraft. If you are lucky you might see a Spitfire looping the loop or a Tiger Moth or Dragon Rapide taking passengers on journeys around the local area.
