Haileybury history

Image of Chapel and Terrace at Haileybury

Established in 1862, Haileybury began its life on the quadrangle of the former East India College, which had closed in 1858. Today it is a fully co-educational school with intake split 50:50 between boys and girls.

Use these pages to find out more about Haileybury’s history, about former pupils who have died on active service and to send us your memories about your own time on Quad.

Young OHs Reception at the Oriental Club Wednesday 10th September, 2025 6-8pm

Product Details

If you left Haileybury between 2010 and 2025, please do come along to our special Drinks Reception at London's fabulous Oriental Club where you will also get to know more about The Haileybury Society, the philanthropic and caring charity affiliated to your old school.

This is the ideal opportunity to meet the OHs who run the Society and learn about the different ways you can get involved and benefit from your lifetime membership.

Join one of our sports clubs

OHs compete throughout the year at national level via our many OH Sports Clubs. This reception will enable you to meet representatives of each club and to join any of them that interest you.

Grants for young OHs

You will also learn about our grants for young OHs, such as travel and drama, and find out how to apply. If you are planning research or others trips to develop your education, we may be able to assist you in your plans.

Membership items

When you attend you will also be able to pick up your Haileybury Society goodie bag, and purchase your members’ tie or necklace at a greatly reduced rate, or receive a voucher for our online shop.

Book your place today!

Places are limited to 100 spaces so please be quick to secure your booking. As a charity we respectfully request a minimum donation of £5 to register for this event.
