Last Tuesday, our Society Secretary and Chair enjoyed an evening at London’s The Old Vic, taking in Alan Ayckbourn’s much-loved comedy How the Other Half Loves. Ayckbourn (Tr 52), is one of Britain’s best-known and most celebrated playwrights, so it was particularly special to see one of his classic comedies on stage.

First performed in 1969, the play is a wonderfully sharp and witty look at relationships, marriage and the misunderstandings that arise when two very different couples become entangled in each other’s lives. With Ayckbourn’s trademark humour and plenty of brilliantly observed moments, it made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the theatre.

They came away thoroughly impressed and would certainly recommend the production to fellow OHs looking for a great night out in London.
