We are saddened to share the news of the recent death of Philip Leaper (Staff 1987-2000)
Philip passed away in his sleep on 19th September 2026, aged 86, after a short battle with Alzheimer’s.
Philip was an inspiring Art teacher at Haileybury with a particular passion for ceramics, photography and drawing which inspired many pupils in his care. After Haileybury he moved to Lincolnshire and was soon working part time at the local school, helping prepare lessons, fixing things, supporting staff, creating stage sets for plays and helping the children. This continued well into his eighties.
We send sincere condolences to Philip’s family and will share funeral details in due course.
