Edmund Aitken-Ballard (Th87) – Coffee & Coping

In November 2024 the Society partnered with the charity Coffee & Coping to help provide a framework to take care of the needs of members should they find themself in a situation they feel unable to deal with. This is our opportunity as OHs to help support back.

As Edmund writes ‘On December 6th, I’ll be walking 25.5 miles from Royston to Ware to raise vital funds for Coffee and Coping, the charity I run. Ill be doing this with a few others to help keep me going!

Coffee and Coping was created to fight loneliness, support families and anyone struggling to find their place in the world. We run free drop-in sessions, men’s groups, and support networks that give people a safe space to talk, connect, and heal.

But like many small charities, we face a constant battle to cover our core costs – the everyday essentials that keep the doors open, the lights on, and the support flowing. These aren’t “extras” – they’re what makes it possible for us to carry on the work that changes lives.

That’s why this walk matters. Every step I take from Royston to Ware is a step towards making sure Coffee and Coping can continue to be there for the people who need us most.

I’m asking you to sponsor me, not just to complete a long walk, but to invest in a community where nobody has to struggle alone.

Please support my walk and help keep Coffee and Coping alive’
