Why This Appeal Matters
When Old Haileyburians rally together, extraordinary things can happen. Thanks to the generosity of the OH community, friends & supporters, the ’Still Mark’ appeal has already raised more than £170,000.
But we are not there yet. Our goal remains £300,000, and with your continued support we can get Mark over the line. While this is an amazing milestone, we are continuing to raise funds to help provide Mark with long-term financial security. For more than three decades, Mark has lived with the daily realities of quadriplegia, facing challenges most of us can barely imagine. Yet throughout it all, Mark has shown remarkable courage and resilience.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed, organised fundraising efforts, or helped share Mark’s story.

Upcoming Fundraising Initiatives
A number of Old Haileyburians and friends of Mark are currently exploring ideas for future fundraising initiatives in support of the appeal, which we will be delighted to help promote. Discussions are taking place around several potential events, including:
- A sponsored walk in September, mirroring the event organised by pupils and staff in 1992 following Mark’s accident
- A dinner and drinks event in London in July
- A charity auction
- A golf day
- A rugby match
- A sleep-out fundraising challenge
If you would like to get involved in any way, please do get in touch.
Give in a Way That Works for You
Every donation, large or small, brings us closer to our goal.
Many supporters have asked about ways to spread their contribution over time.
If you would prefer, you can support Mark through a standing order, allowing you to give monthly, quarterly, or annually. Regular donations, whatever the amount, help provide Mark with the stability and long-term support this appeal is designed to achieve.
If you would like to set up a standing order, please email members@thehaileyburysociety.org and we will provide the relevant details.
