We are sorry to share the news of the death of John Slater (C 60). At Haileybury John was a Prefect and Scholar and in the XV 63-64. He went on to University College Oxford and got a Blue in Modern Pentathlon. His career was initially in packaging and then his security business, followed by a long period as General Manager of the St John Ambulance First Aid Training Centre in Bristol.
John’s funeral will be held in Wells on 3rd December 2025. Do please contact us for further information and to be put in touch with Robert Rice (Th 60), whose late brother Hugh was a great friend of John’s. Donations in John’s memory would be gratefully received by the charity HASAG, charity number 1197946, which specialises in supporting those diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease. We send sincere condolences to Sue and John’s family.
