Jeremy was honoured after being selected to represent Great Britain at the Veterans World Fencing Championships held in Bahrain.
Competing on 13 November 2025, he took part in the Men’s Épée Over-60s category, facing a strong international field. In the opening round of poules, he secured two victories out of five bouts, earning his place in the direct elimination stage.
A tough draw saw him matched against the previous year’s world champion from Sweden in his very first knockout bout. Despite a determined performance, he was defeated 4–10, resulting in a final placing of 49th out of 71 competitors.
A short Facebook reel published by the World Fencing Federation (FIE) features highlights from his match against the defending champion, capturing a proud moment on the world stage: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1CyeVU32Ei/
