On September 11th, OH Dylan Cooke (L 15) will be joining around 30 of his colleagues to take on the BigBike – a 300km cycle from London to Paris, all in aid of The Global Hunger Project. The Global Hunger Project is a charity committed to ending hunger and poverty by empowering people to lead sustainable, self-reliant lives.
We caught up with Dylan to find out what he’s been up to and what was the inspiration behind taking on this challenging feat.
‘’After leaving Haileybury, I went into Executive Search for a year with the plan to go to university after lockdown restrictions were lifted. I decided to go to Oxford Brookes University to study Business Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. I had a great time there and learned a few things along the way too. I graduated in September 2024 and started working at BigHand in the same month. I was originally in customer renewals, then moved into Account Management in April this year.

I decided to join the BigBike due to the amazing charity we’re fundraising for and the challenge of a 300km bike ride. The Global Hunger Project doesn’t just provide food, but they focus on community-led development by supporting education, health, agriculture, and leadership training. They help communities build lasting solutions to hunger and create a future of opportunity and dignity for all.
If anyone would like to add to a great cause, every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. Your support will go directly towards helping communities around the world break the cycle of hunger and poverty. It’s not just about charity — it’s about empowering people with the tools and opportunities to create lasting change. Thank you for anything you’re able to give!’’
The Haileybury Society wishes Dylan every success in hitting his target – please do support if you can by visiting his donation page where you can read his full story: Dylan Cooke is fundraising for The Global Hunger Project
