The Haileybury Society Jersey Trip

13th – 16th May 2026

Proposed itinerary and arrangements for a visit by members of The Haileybury Society to Jersey in May 2026; no travel arrangements to and from Jersey are included, allowing OHs to travel from their closest airport, or by car ferry from Poole or Portsmouth.

Accommodation: The most likely hotel is the Pomme d’Or Hotel, Liberation Square, St Helier as the base for the trip, it has a good reputation is a 4-star grade and is well located and suited to this sort of group trip. It is proposed that accommodation would be in twin or double bedrooms on a room and breakfast basis, single travellers would occupy double/twin rooms at an appropriate rate, single rooms are hard to find. Alternatively OHs can make their own arrangements for accommodation on the island.

Transport on Island: To enable the group to enjoy as much freedom as possible it is suggested that transport to and from the Harbour or Airport be arranged by the travellers themselves, taxis or buses are readily available. The proposed itinerary and events would require the use of Coach transport, Tantivy Blue Coach tours are experienced and can accommodate our specific requirements.

Itinerary and Events: Led by David Lord (B 64), local CI Secretary

Evening:              Dinner at a restaurant in St Helier, associated with Haileybury, Channel Island OHs would be invited and encouraged to join this event. This would be the final organised part of the trip.

If OHs wished to stay longer the hotel would look favourably and offer competitive rates, there are many other places of interest to visit, Gerald Durrell’s home and Zoo, the German War Tunnels, the Castles, as well as stunning walks along the coast and cliffs on the North Coast.

Anticipated costs: for those staying at the hotel of our choice with two days of tours and dinners we estimate the cost will be around £1000 per person. The Society will be able to offer a payment plan. To express your interest please email us members@thehaileyburysociety.org
