Following the success of his Paul Stanton SAS novels, Chris Darnell (M 65), a prolific writer, has written a further autobiographical book, entitled Stories From A Military Life. All Chris’ books are available on Amazon.
Chris was an officer in the British Army for thirty years. He was commissioned into the Gurkhas and served with them for ten years. He then transferred to The King’s Own Scottish Borderers. During this time he had several operational tours in Northern Ireland, was awarded the MBE and Mentioned in Despatches. He commanded his battalion in the First Gulf War. After leaving the Army in 1999 as a Colonel he worked in the Defence and Technology industries for major, global companies. He now combines writing with consultancy work and charitable involvement in his various alumni organisations. He was President of the Haileybury Society in 2012 and served as a trustee for many years. He was also a member of Haileybury Council.
